Empire star has taken to Twitter on Saturday to announce that she was getting a tonsillectomy and deserves a year off as ‘personal time’ for recovering. She has told her followers, “I’ve decided to get a tonsillectomy and I deserve to take all of 2018 off as a personal time to rest from this huge adult decision I just made.” She has told her followers for respecting her privacy at that time and most of her fans has wished her for a speedy recovery.
Gabourey has been nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her stunning performance in ‘Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire’ in 2009 as well as recurring on Fox’s Empire since the stars Lee Daniels as well as Danny Strong series debuted in January 2015. She has played the role of Becky Williams on the show— who began as an executive assistant to Terrence Howard’s Lucious Lyon before heading towards Head of A&R at the Empire label. It appeared that Becky will be facing another challenging: a surprise pregnancy, by the season 4 fall finale in December.
