There were all laughs, smiles and a relaxed camaraderie at the first official engagement of Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle together on Wednesday.
While sharing their plans for the first annual Royal Foundation Forum, Prince Harry and bride-to-be Meghan opened up about the bond they share. Harry has shared that they have different opinions and have worked well together. He has said that working as the family has its challenges—promoting smiles from several in the room.
He has said that he thinks the fact that everybody is laughing shows they know exactly what’s it like but they are stuck together for the rest of their lives. And to which Meghan has responded by saying, “Togetherness at its finest.” Meghan Markle has also voiced up her support for the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.
She has encouraged women to “use their voices” instead of “finding” them as well as praised women for speaking out against sexual assault. Meghan has said that she has heard a lot of people speaking about girls’ empowerment and women’s’ empowerment and they will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices but she disagrees with that as women don’t need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen.
She has shared that right now with the campaigns there’s no better time for continuing to shine a light on women feeling empowered. This event has marked the first time the foursome has appeared at an official royal event together. Last time, they were spotted together on Christmas morning when they headed towards church service in Norfolk with the rest of the family along with Queen Elizabeth. The chief executive of Royal Foundation, Lorraine Heggessey has told Sky News that the presence of the four royals at the event was “significant.”
