Blake Lively has made her Fashion debut in 2008 dressed in a black strapless Ralph Lauren gown.
It was the height of her superstardom and has brought Lonely Boy [Penn Badgley] as her date. The 30-year-old “Gossip Girl’ actress has put her eighth clothing outfit for the Catholic-themed ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ Costume Institute Gala which took place on 7th May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
At Tod’s x Barneys New York Capsule Collection launch event on Thursday in New York City, Blake has told Vogue that her attire for this year’s gala is her ‘favorite dress ever.’ She has shared what’s bound to be an epic design, saying that they have already worked on it for 600 hours, and it’s not done.
At the event— which she has co-hosted with Barney New York’s Danielle Vitale and Tod’s Diego Della Valle— she has told Women’s Wear Daily that her go-to jewelry designers, Lorraine Schwartz and Christian Louboutin, are also at work to create custom emphasis for her look. She has told WWD that she has just sent Lorraine and Christian her dress and has said, ‘Ok let’s do something special.’
The mother of two has shared that they’re making something custom for it so, it’s kind of nice as she has several artists around her with whom she has direct relationships. She continued, “It’s sort of a group effort with that. I rely on people who do that for a living rather than outsourcing it to someone else.”
Blake has proved her style chameleon status at the fashion bash by opting a gray suede Tod’s sweatsuit (hot-off-the fall/winter 2018 runway) with skirmish boots and a bag from Tod’s x Barneys New York capsule to celebrate the collection. She has accessorized the dress with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and an epic pumped-up ponytail.
