It hasn’t been a week when john legend won the title of EGOT among the top-ranked entertainers; he has been finalized as the newest coach of NBC’s The Voice for season 16. Legend was reported saying that he is excited and thrilled to join the coaches club of the Voice. He has been invited to the singing show a couple of times as a guest and mentor, but this is the first time he has been invited as a new coach and for which he is very excited. He hopes the audience and the new singers are ready for TeamJL.

He was also seen reacting to the news of joining the singing competition show on Twitter on Thursday when the twitter page Variety posted the news of him being the new coach. Legend was invited to the Voice stage in 2016 as a guest performer to sing with finalist We McDonald, and he has been seen mentoring finalists in the past as well as he said.

This time, however, the musician is all set to rock the stage as a coach alongside Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, and Blake Shelton. The president of the alternative and reality group at NBC entertainment, Paul Telegdy praised Legend’s accolades in a statement where he said; John Legend is a one-of-a-kind musician and producer with excellent skills that are beyond measure. His multi-dimensional career and incredible talent provide a repertoire that he will rock the stage and inspire the contestants. This coaching panel will ignite in the season 16.

Legend has been the first African-American man to win the EGOT title. Aside from winning is 2018 Emmy award for his work Jesus Christ superstar, he has 10 Grammy awards in his list along with an Oscar for the song glory that was featured in the movie Selma.
